Sales – District Sales Manager |

Role definition:
District Sales Managers (DSM’s) are, initially, reporting directly to the General Manager of US Operations, and will operate as individual contributors. They will utilize existing contacts of previous customers and partners to evangelize and sell Kognitio’s products and services.
DSM’s will also receive leads from the inside sales organization who will have vetted the accounts, quantified the opportunity and progressed the sales cycle to the point of where the District Sales Manager can move the opportunity to closure.
DSM’s understand Kognitio’s value proposition and the unique positioning of WX2 so that they can sell the appropriate products and services at all levels within their accounts.
Candidate Attributes:
Required:
- Proven track record of 10-15 years of high tech sales in the DW/BI markets, preferably with early stage start up companies
- Track record of meeting or exceeding quota consistently.
- Demonstrates an ability to manage solution oriented, multi-month, multi-million dollar, complex sales cycles comprised of software and services.
- Demonstrates a proven track record of selling technology solutions to large multi-national corporations.
- An ability to thrive in a fast paced, demanding, unstructured environment.
- A complete view and understanding of large-scale data warehousing.
- Demonstrates an ability to coordinate and motivate colleagues as well as business partners.
- Experience working with and or for: Oracle, Teradata, IBM/DB2, Netezza, DATAllegro, Greenplum preferred
Desirable:
- Experience selling for a Business Intelligence company or a BI practice of a System Integrator
- Personal and professional relationships at large systems integrators, consultancies and technology partners
- Proven track record of leadership and teamwork
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience
Other:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation abilities.
- Organized, adaptable, a self-starter, highly motivated by challenge, and a team player.
- Preference for working in a virtual environment.
