This week will see thought leaders and experts from some of the world's biggest brands head to Atlanta, Georgia, for the 2013 Digital Summit.

More than 1,500 attendees are expected at the event, where key topics up for discussion include best practices and strategic tactics in area such as data analytics, ecommerce, online video, digital advertising and more.

Internet executives, digital marketers, web strategists and entrepreneurs will be at the Georgia world Congress Center for the two-day event, which gets underway tomorrow. Therefore, as well as finding out about some of the latest developments in the digital sector, it's a great opportunity for networking.

More than 100 speakers from some of the world's leading brands will be providing talks that will offer a look at the current state of the digital landscape and offer industry insight into what organizations must be doing to get ahead to the competition.

Among these, representatives of brands such as Google, Twitter, Reddit, Mashable, Porsche, Turner, TMZ, Coca-Cola, HootSuite, NASCAR, The Weather Channel, Dell, Rovi and Forrester will be giving addresses at the event, to name just a few.

Also speaking will be Kognitio's vice-president of propositions Nigel Sanctuary. He will be offering insight into how businesses can use big data analytics to better understand their customers and formulate better strategies.

“This is game-changing, Mr Sanctuary said. “There is now a facility to capture a broader spectrum of data, not just store it and query it, but also to take complex applications and run those. That is completely new.”

The Digital Summit 2013 will feature over 80 events, including pre-conference workshops in how to make the most of advanced digital marketing tools, as well as presentations and panels covering all aspects of doing business digitally.

Making the opening keynote address will be Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit, while entertainment at the event will be provided by special musical guest Shawn Mullins.
