The full version of our Kognitio On Hadoop (kodoop) software is now released and available for download and use as a free to use product.

The current release version (8.1.50-rel160923) replaces the prerelease downloads on our website and can be obtained through our Kognitio on Hadoop page here: http://kognitio.com/on-hadoop/

The quickstart guide and other supporting materials can be obtained by following the links in the product information thread here: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=323

If you have any questions, etc you can get help by posting in this forum.

Changes since prerelease 6 include:
* Improvements in ODBC gateway daemon behaviour
* Improved problem diagnosis reports for gateway problems
* Better and more obvious handling of the case where two servers attempt to use the same external port
* Improvements to cluster edge node tracking and reporting via the new 'cluster_info' command
* Fixed the issue with broken kognitio config files after cluster creation
* Fix for the upgrade issue which resulted in a missing kognito package
* Other assorted bugfixes and small usability improvements

Kodoop update 8.1.50-rel170105 is now released and available on the download page.

Changes in this release include:
* Removal of broadcast messages to make Kodoop work on Amazon EC2 systems
* Changes and testing to ensure Kodoop now runs on Amazon EMR (more information here: http://www.kognitio.com/kognitio-on-emr)
* Optimiser improvements for better query costs generates better query plans.
* Added commands for Kerberos keytable management.
* Fix for container kill problems caused by wxhdfscli size.
* Workaround for client connection hangs caused by slider port allocation clashes.

This release also comes with an updated version of the kodoop-extras.tar.gz tarball. This update contains a patched version of slider 0.91 which has been modified to work on Amazon's EMR environment (the stock version doesn't work in this environment). This is an optional extra, you can continue to use the old version or use a version of slider you obtained from another source. The new kodoop-extras.tar.gz can be downloaded from here:

http://www.kognitio.com/forums/kodoop-extras.tar.gz

You can untar this over the top of the previous version and it will update the kodoop/slider symlink to point to the new slider version but remember to copy over any changes made to the slider config (slider-clients.xml for example) after doing this.
