Analyst ranking places Kognitio as leading vendor for “happiest customers,” among top two vendors, ranked by technology
NEW YORK, February 25, 2014 — Kognitio, driving advanced analytics and data science through Supercomputing for Data Science™, today announced a leading analyst firm has ranked the Kognitio Analytical Platform as one of the world’s top two data warehousing vendors from a technology perspective. It also reported that companies that have deployed Kognitio are the most satisfied with their choice, saying that Kognitio has what it called “the happiest customers.”
The rankings, from British analyst The Information Difference, cite “customer satisfaction as measured by a survey of reference customers, analyst impression of the technology, maturity of the technology and breadth of technology in terms of its coverage against (The Information Difference’s) functionality model.”

The firm’s “Data Warehouse Landscape – Q4 2013” rates nine top global vendors. The Kognitio technology scored above other market leaders in the report, exceeding vendors such as IBM, EMC/Greenplum, SAS, Oracle and Microsoft. The report also notes Kognitio’s pioneering role in cloud-based data warehousing and business intelligence.
“We have to thank our fiercely loyal clients, who continue to be great fans and advocates, illustrating the value they get from our technology,” said Steve Millard, Kognitio president and chief executive officer. “Kognitio sits on the upper-edge of the data warehouse market as a supercomputing platform for advanced analytics and data science,” he continued, “this complements and extends existing data warehouses and enables them to modernize their data platforms with Hadoop.”
The report from The Information Difference illustrates that Kognitio’s focus on delivering the highest levels of service is paying off, with the company having developed and nurtured a set of firms using the Kognitio Analytical Platform to make the most of their technology. Millard said these firms greatly appreciate the additional analytic capabilities it delivers to their operations.
Millard also noted that the Landscape ranking revealed most of the companies surveyed are experiencing annual data growth of between 25 and 50 percent. “As they absorb more data, they require more ability to bring high-performance processing for things like predictive analytics,” he said. “The Kognitio Analytical Platform is the only solution that enables them to bring all of this together and integrate seamlessly with their existing applications and users.”
