Hi all

Here is part 1 of series of topics to introduce Kognitio External Scripting using Python.

Check out this pdf for an overview of the Kognitio External Scripting Interface and how to get it working with python scripts. The examples discussed are available here.

It dives straight into creating an external script, explaining the syntax of the Kognitio script interface including passing data to and from the script along with some helpful hints on how to get python working smoothly. This is followed by an example of how to use the scripts you create in SQL queries.

Note If you haven't done so already you will need to create a python script environment on your Kognitio system

Code: Select all

create script environment PYTHON command '/usr/bin/python';
You can call the environment anything you like but the path must match where python is installed on your Kognitio system. More about setting up environments to follow at a later date.
