How do I specify the replication level for kodoop disk?

by markc » Mon Aug 01, 2016 2:21 pm

I understand that Kognitio on Hadoop can use HDFS to persist data, rather than always having to use external tables to access existing HDFS files.

Is there a way to control the replication level for this kodoop storage, or does it always use the dfs.replication value from the hdfs-site.xml file?

You can set the Kognitio on Hadoop replication level in the configuration file, by setting the replication setting in the [disks] section.

e.g. replication=2 will ensure there are two instances for each block, so an individual node failure does not cause data loss.

setting replication=0 lets the Hadoop default setting control the replication.
