Format return code -77 when commissioning kodoop

by markc » Mon Oct 17, 2016 3:46 pm

I'm commissioning a kodoop system, and see the following:

...
--> Initialising internal storage.
Disk resource initialisation results:
FATAL ERROR: Error on container_e01_1234567890123_4567_01_000002: -2 - Format return code -77, errno 9.
FATAL ERROR: Error on container_e01_1234567890123_4567_01_000002: -2 - Format return code -77, errno 9.
...

What has gone wrong? How can I fix it?

We've seen things like this, typically with a message in the smd output log (in the container logs) indicating "failed to load libhdfs: libhdfs.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory".

In this situation, the problem is that the Kognitio software cannot find libhdfs - it has a number of places to look, but if your copy is not being found you can specify the location in the config file.

In the global config file add the following:

[hadoop]
libhdfs_path=<the full pathname for the libhdfs.so file you want - e.g. /usr/hdp/2.5.0.0-1245/usr/lib/libhdfs.so>
