Informatica connection to Kognitio

by lars.hansen.cph » Tue Jan 13, 2015 9:18 am

We have Informatica 9.6.1 Real Time Edition on Linux. The connection to Kognitio with the driver 8.01.00.00 does not succeed. Is the driver not compatible with Informatica or how should we connect ?

Hi Lars,

Yes Informatica RT (9.0.1) has been used connecting to Kognitio through a standard ODBC connection both for V7 and V8 drivers.

An appropriate odbc.ini config file is required that INFA can reference with a Kognitio DSN entry along the lines of:

[kogdsn]
Driver=/opt/kognitio/wx2/current/lib/Linux64/libwcsodbc_utf8.so
RandomServerAddress=Y
ServerAddress1=x.x.x.1
ServerPort1=6550
ServerAddress2=x.x.x.2
ServerPort2=6550
Timeout=15
SSLEnabled=N
;ForceConnect=N
WX2ODBCDbg=0
WX2ODBCDbgFilename=/informatica/9.0.1/ODBC6.0/kogodbc.log

You may need to create a symbolic link as follows:
cd /informatica/9.0.1/ODBC6.0/lib
ln -s libodbcinst.so libodbcinst.so.1

Then in the Workflow Manager we created the connections:
Connections -> Relational -> New -> ODBC -> OK
Set connect string to the ODBC DSN defined above and set appropriate logon credentials.
Set Code Page to "UTF-8 encoding of Unicode"
