Data dictionary

by jagan.kumar » Thu Mar 05, 2015 3:45 pm

Hi

Where I can find the data dictionary for IPE_ tables/views please?
For e.g, I would like to understand the meaning of SM_TIME, TM_TIME etc in IPE_COMMAND table.
Tried to extract the information from latest_810_doc but in vain.

Thanks,
Jagan

If you do e.g. "explain SYS.IPE_COMMAND" it will show you the comments for the table as a whole, and for individual columns:

...
Comment: 'logging of all commands run on the server'

Columns:-
TNO INTEGER NOT NULL 'transaction number'
SEQ INTEGER NOT NULL 'sequence number of command within the transaction'
COMMAND VARCHAR(32000) CHARACTER SET UTF8 'SQL command'
SM_TIME FLOAT(15) 'time taken to compile the query (in ms)'
TM_TIME FLOAT(15) 'time taken to run the query (in ms) - note for SELECT queries this is just the time for DECLARing the cursor, not for actually executing the OPEN cursor and FETCHes'
QUEUE_TIME FLOAT(15) 'time spent queued (in ms)'
TOTAL_TIME FLOAT(15) 'total time spent on query (in ms)'
DISK_CHANGE FLOAT(15) 'reserved for future use'
STATUS INTEGER 'command status - the WX2 return code for the command'
CDATE DATE 'date when the command completed'
CTIME TIME(0) 'time when the command completed'
...

There is a view called SYS.IPE_DESCRIPTION which stores this text. You can search that if you are trying to find out e.g. columns which record times in milliseconds:

select * from sys.ipe_description where comment imatching 'in ms' order by 1,2,3;
SCHEMANAME TABLENAME COLUMNNAME COMMENT
SYS IPE_COMMAND QUEUE_TIME time spent queued (in ms)
SYS IPE_COMMAND SM_TIME time taken to compile the query (in ms)
SYS IPE_COMMAND TM_TIME time taken to run the query (in ms) - note for SELECT queries this is just the time for DECLARing the cursor, not for actually executing the OPEN cursor and FETCHes
SYS IPE_COMMAND TOTAL_TIME total time spent on query (in ms)
