PI0183 error when using crossload connector

by anonymous2 » Mon Nov 23, 2015 1:38 pm

>SELECT COUNT(*) FROM MYSCHEMA.EXT_TAB;
COUNT(*)
retcode = -1
HY000: [Kognitio][WX2 Driver][myserver] PI0183: Module ODBC: Unable to fetch data (see serverdbg for details)

I then looked in the serverdbg from the smd logging directory at that time, and saw:
T_2015-11-22_11:11:31_GMT: PI ODBC(0x14000183): unable to fetch from external script command: [Kognitio][WX2 Driver][1.2.3.4] RS0029: External scripting feature is not enabled in the configuration file
T_2015-11-22_11:11:31_GMT: PI ODBC(0x14000215): distload_get_data_producer_addr(): GetMessage() didn't return a message.

What has gone wrong, and what do I need to do to fix it?

As suggested by the serverdbg text, you need to enable external scripting as well as external tables to get the crossload connector to work. That is because the crossload connector uses external scripting - the documentation does not spell this out, but it does include instructions on creating the CROSSLOAD script environment used by the source system, for example.

So you need to enable external scripting on the source system by adding the following line to the [boot options] section of its configuration file, and restarting the source database for that to take effect:

external_scripts=yes
