I get ET0106 when trying to use external tables
by markc » Mon Sep 16, 2013 12:51 pm
What do I need to do to get external tables working? Currently if I create a connector and try to use it I get "ET0106: External tables are not enabled for this server".

The technology preview documentation referenced at http://www.kognitio.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3 covers this topic in this section on external table licencing and configuration:
"In addition to having an appropriate licence, the [boot options] section of the configuration file must contain the following line to enable external tables:
external_tables=yes
"
The reason for having this restriction is to prevent information being available to Kognitio platform users without administrators being aware. So external tables need to be explicitly enabled by the administrator rather than defaulting to being enabled.
