How can I check reclaim progress?

by admin » Thu Oct 24, 2013 11:06 am

I am aware of the repacking functionality which can be used instead of reclaim to recover disk space. However, I am still using reclaim.

As it gets a global lock, I can't run SQL to see how far it has got. Is there any way I can monitor its progress?

If you have access to the Linux command line on one of the database nodes, you can review log files which show the progress of reclaim.

For example, the following shows the last prgress indicator for the disk store which has made least progress:

root hp-rack1-enc6-2:/var/log/wx2/logs-mark3 # grep lowest `wxlogd smd`/serv* | tail -1
18-02_18:30:53_GMT: LC DS 10 read 5.87% of which 0.00% reclaimed, time left 7m45s (slowest)
root hp-rack1-enc6-2:/var/log/wx2/logs-mark3 #
