How do I make use of Kognitio's scale up capabilities ?

by dexter@work » Fri Jul 18, 2014 8:54 am

How can I make use of Kognitio's scale up capabilities by adding another kognitio node to my system?
and I am not sure what impact it will have on overall query performance?

any suggestion is welcomed :)

If you look at the documentation attached to this topic: http://www.kognitio.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3

... you will see in section 2.6 of the Configuration & Maintenance Guide that you can do a phase 1 hardware install on new nodes to add them to the system. Then the cores, RAM and networking on the new nodes will automatically be included when you restart the database software. It is worth taking a copy of the config file on the existing system first, or ensuring it is copied to the new nodes before the System Manager Daemon (smd) on them is started, otherwise the newer nodes will have a newer config file which will supercede the config file on the old nodes.

Read the documentation about reconfigure if you have new disk resources on the new nodes which you want to incorporate into the system.
