How to find out which query errored from a submit log file

by markc » Mon Sep 01, 2014 4:58 pm

I ran a submit script with the "-q" option, and the result log is as follows - how can I determine which query errored?

Query 1 Complete ---- 0:00.3 0:00.3 0:00.3
Query 2 Complete ---- 0:05.1 0:05.1 0:05.1
Query 3 Complete ---- 0:04.2 0:04.2 0:04.2
Query 4 Complete ---- 0:10.8 0:10.8 0:10.8
Query 5 retcode = -1 ---- 0:26.8 0:26.8 0:26.8

The best practice would be to not use the -q option to submit, as that way you will see the queries in the log file.

This will also ensure that you see the correct output even if the script changes before you inspect the log file.

However, for the existing log file, you can query the command logging table to see which query gave this error - the following query will show you the offending SQL commands with the most recent ones first:

SELECT * FROM SYS.IPE_COMMAND WHERE ERRORCODE(STATUS) = 'RS2003' ORDER BY TNO DESC, SEQ DESC
