JDBC Connection SQL giving odd result

by William » Mon Apr 03, 2017 2:49 pm

Hi,

I'm connecting to Kognitio via JDBC from Knime using the com.kognitio.jdbc.Driver.
I have also tested the same connection using SQuirreL instead of Knime and I have the same problem:

I run the following simple query against our Kognitio database:

Code: Select all

select group_id,
       max(case when flag='A' then 'Y'
                else 'N' end) as prod_flagyn,
       max(case when flag='A' then 1
                else 0 end) as prod_flag10
from knime_test p
group by 1
order by 1
You’ll see prod_flag10 can only take values 1 and 0 which would correspond to prod_flagyn taking ‘Y’ or ‘N’.

But the data that is returned looks like this:
GROUP_ID PROD_FLAGYN PROD_FLAG10
3351 Y 1
3353 N 1
9798 Y 1750187360

It’s very odd and of course doesn’t correspond to the result we get directly from that database:
GROUP_ID PROD_FLAGYN PROD_FLAG10
3351 Y 1
3353 N 0
9798 Y 1

Please can you let me know if you can help with this?

Thanks,

Will

Hi William,

This is a known issue and we do have a fix available which will go into the next release of the JDBC-ODBC bridge.

Regards,
Deborah

Thanks Deborah.

Please can you provide a timescale or a temporary work around?

Thanks,

Will
