Where can I find the latest Kognitio Console?

by markc » Wed May 29, 2013 1:24 pm

Where can I find the latest Kognitio Console download?

Where can I find accompanying documentation, etc.?

Does the download include the Kognitio ODBC driver, and/or the Kognitio command line tools?

The latest Kognitio Console downloads are for 80199s180109 and are linked to below, along with documentation and presentations on the Console. Note that the installer gives you the option of installing any combination of the following:
  • ODBC driver
  • Kognitio command line tools
  • Kognitio Console
Windows
64-bit client installer: http://www.kognitio.com/forums/latest_win64_client.zip
32-bit client installer: http://www.kognitio.com/forums/latest_win32_client.zip (deprecated for new installs)

64-bit Console-only installer: http://www.kognitio.com/forums/console64.zip
32-bit Console-only installer: http://www.kognitio.com/forums/console32.zip (deprecated for new installs)

These 32 and 64 bit Console-only installers which do not require Admin privileges to install. Note that these are only suitable if you have previously done a full install from the above, as otherwise the ODBC driver required by the Console will not be installed.

Linux
http://www.kognitio.com/forum/wx2-linux-clients.tar.gz

A good way to install ON NODES WHICH ARE NOT PART OF A KOGNITIO CLUSTER (i.e. not an AP or DB node) is to unzip the file then run "tar -C /opt/kognitio/wx2/current -xf <resulting tar file>" to install in /opt/kognitio/wx2/current, then commands like 'wxsubmit', 'wximport', 'man wxexport', ... should run normally.

Should you want to install this on a DB/AP node, modify the instructions above to install to a different location, then modify your path for relevant users to pick up the binary files before the usual ones under /opt/kognitio/wx2/current/bin, assuming you want some users to pick up new versions of e.g. wxsubmit for some reason.

Note that you will need the 32 bit runtime installed to be able to use these tools otherwise you will get errors like "bash: ./wxsubmit: No such file or directory" when you try to run wxsubmit. On RHEL/CentOS you can run "yum install glibc.i686" for this, and on SLES "zypper install glibc-32bit". For more details on these see http://kognitio.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=138

There is a Linux version of Console in the Linux clients package linked to from the topic on version 8 software downloads: http://www.kognitio.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=103. That topic explains how to install the Linux clients package as well.

Regards,
Mark.

There is also a zipped copy of the Console for Mac available at http://www.kognitio.com/forums/latest_mac_console.zip.

The latest ODBC driver installer for Mac is available at http://www.kognitio.com/forums/latest_mac_odbc.zip.

The main restriction with this version is that ODBC is via direct connection to the Kognitio ODBC driver rather than an ODBC driver manager, so the ODBC configuration dialog does not work.
