Kognitio Named as Top Big Data Technology
Kognitio has been named as one of the most important big data technologies that enterprise customers should be investigating by a leading industry publication.
CTOVision compiled its Big Data Top Enterprise Tech List to aid decision-makers who are looking for more information on the most capable solutions to help them achieve their mission, with the list designed to coincide with this week's Strata + Hadoop World 2013 conference in New York, at which Kognitio was a sponsor.
The publication highlighted the fact that Kognitio's in-memory analytical platform can be tightly integrated with the latest Hadoop solutions to deliver high-performance advanced analytics.
Kognitio technology ensures that companies can access the full potential of their data, with tools such as an HFDS connector that defines access to the file system and enables complete sets of files to be loaded in memory for fast results to queries.
A filtering agent also ensures that only the most relevant data is loaded into memory, so users do not have to waste time analyzing unimportant information.
This therefore makes big data much more consumable for enterprises, with the solutions being particularly well-suited to those companies that already have mature business intelligence environments or their own engrained data analytics. This is due to the way Kognitio can be added to existing deployments with the minimum of hassle.
Kognitio is in good company on the CTOVision Big Data Top Enterprise Tech List, with other entrants including NoSQL database solution MongoDB – which is rapidly becoming one of the most popular solutions for storied and managed large, unstructured data sets – and Hadoop software specialist Cloudera.
The naming of Kognitio to the list comes at an important time, as the company has just enhanced its capabilities even further with the launch of version 8.1 of its Analytical Platform, which offers a range of improvements delivering a true in-memory experience.
Roger Gaskell, chief technology officer at Kognitio, said that as Hadoop becomes more important to firms, successful big data analytics will become less about how data is stored and more about the speed and relevancy of processing – something Kognitio is ideally placed to assist with.
