From version 2.6 onwards, Hortonworks is shipping Apache Hive 2 LLAP as part of its standard HDP distribution to try to address issues in SQL performance on Hadoop.
We aimed to include Hive in previous SQL on Hadoop tests, but lack of SQL support and poor single thread performance meant it was removed. But with the release of Hive LLAP, we’ve now been able to include it in this recent test.
